There is a mysterious relationship between external prayer and inner union. The one is the soul of the other; the first is a living and unquenchable expression of the second. Inner union is a conscious and existent look at the Trinity present in us and is the essential basis of our external prayer. External prayer is more vivacious and rich when it is consciously nurtured and continuously vivified by inner union. (Prayer)
