DAY ONE: We begin this blog for holiness with Mary!

My Mother, My Confidence!
NOVENA: November 29 to theVigil of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 2007
Dear Readers,

The Novena for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception begins today! It ushers us into Advent and will help us reflect on the great mystery of the Incarnation. Please feel free to share your reflections during these days, that is what this blog is for: reflections, sharing and encouragement. Invite others into the process.

Let us hurry now to meet Mary in the next great Feast Day, the Immaculate Conception. Our Founder writes on the Immaculate Conception, "The mystery of the Immaculate Conception of Mary is the first and the greatest of the new order of the Redemption. When our Lady was conceived immaculately the economy of grace began, that is the mysterious world of Jesus Savior, the world of love, the world of the Redemption.”

Nine days like nine months can change our lives and our world; embrace them and meditate deeply on this great mystery. May the mystery touch our lives and make us more open to receiving Jesus, our Savior and from this gift, our vocation begins, because what we receive is what we give.

Teresa Monaghen, A.O.
National Director of the Pro Sanctity Movement

Daily pray for the next nine days:

Prayer in preparation for the
FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

O Mary, Virgin most pure and spotless, who came to earth to propose to us anew, in all of its beauty, the ideal of new life in Christ, beckon us.

You show us what we should be, but are not.

Freed from evil before it even touched you, you invite us to the great battle between good and evil in which Christ, by crushing the head of the serpent, won His eternal victory.

This victory can be ours if, obedient to the word of God and hand in hand with you, Mary, we walk on the bright road opened to us by Christ.

Draw us to yourself, Mary, until the day when in joy everlasting we shall be able to contemplate the glorious face of Christ, unveiled forever. Amen.

There comes a ship so laden
Where highest decks engird;
It brings the Father's Son,
The true, Eternal Word

Over the quiet ocean waves
The Vessel sails serene.
It brings to us a precious gift,
A right and noble Queen

Maria, O you noble Rose,
O branch of every Pleasantry,
You lovely lily-flower,
From sin make us now free.

The little ship sails silently
And brings such treasure vast;;
Thesails are made of Love
The Holy Spirit is the mast.

So excited to see the PRO SANCTITY BLOG!! What a great idea! It will be wonderful to be able to not just receive encouragement but to reflect upon it with one another (especially wonderful for those who happen to be out in the Pro Sanctity Mission Fields ;) ) Thank you Teresa for following the prompting to set this up.

Love from South Dakota,
Jackie
