What are the foundational values of our personal, community, and apostolic “building”? Are they those of the rejected stone or those of the world? Do we realize that we neglect Christ when we look for ego-gratification—affirmation of ourselves, of our personality, our thoughts, our way of acting, our own will? Even though this may sometimes be hidden, it can still be real. (The Rock)
